About me

Stephen Baird is a self-taught photographer/artist who started taking photographs for a local community newspaper in the early 80s.

He recently graduated with an Honours Degree in Art History at the Open University which helps him to gain a theoretical understanding of art, artists and his own practice.

Stephen’s main projects concentrate on typologies and have been influenced by the architectural studies of the Bechers, the darkness of Bill Brandt, and also by the use of colour in the seventies by William Eggleston.

In this journal I will be logging thoughts and ideas, developing projects, collecting information and tying together my online presence by consolidating information from partial blogs and sites onto this one.
