Evolution of AI Capabilities
The development and increasing capability of AI using common terms
I have used a diagram found in various places on the Internet, simplified to the very core to outline the main capability only. The idea is to take away the mystery and possible fear of AI for those "new" to AI.
Artificial Intelligence, AI, is a "catch all" term used speak about related technologies. As the diagram shows, as technology evolves better more cognitive capabilities are developed in the AI field. We have moved from being able to "mimic" simple decision making, through the ability to learn and make choices - largely based on inputs, and now into the realm of determining a complex answer to a complex question. Still under the banner of AI, but the above shows the technological advancements that are enabling this evolution.
